Allen Fields Tedder, Jr., 65, passed away on May 19, 2025. He was born on June 20, 1959, in Winter Haven, Florida. As the beloved only son of Evelyn Lucile Strine Tedder and Allen Fields Tedder Sr., he held a special place in their hearts and never stopped carrying their legacy with pride. Both of his parents preceded him in death.
Allen led a dynamic and multifaceted life, calling Clark County, Nevada, Haywood County, North Carolina, and Polk County, Florida, home at various times. His career was as varied as it was successful—beginning in Las Vegas, where he served as a respected floor manager at Circus Circus and Lady Luck casinos, known for his sharp instincts and natural ability to connect with people in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
After leaving the casino industry, Allen pursued his entrepreneurial passions through a number of successful ventures. He invested in residential and commercial real estate, building a portfolio that reflected both his business savvy and his eye for potential. In Florida, he became a familiar and trusted figure in the community through his ownership and operation of a well-loved local flea market. There, he built lasting relationships with vendors and customers alike, turning the business into a vibrant gathering place that reflected his commitment to people and connection.
He is survived by his children—Kristen Elizabeth Elliott, Jennifer Anne Tedder, and Allen Fields Tedder, III—who will forever carry his strength and spirit. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Kal Alvy Tedder, Samantha Alexis Tedder, Sarah Whitney Tedder, Cole Grayson Rickdall Ward, and Caden James Elliott, each of whom brought him endless joy and pride.
Above all, Allen’s greatest passion in life was golf. Whether on his own or with friends, he found his deepest joy on the course. Golf was more than a pastime—it was his sanctuary, his challenge, and his lifelong love. He will be remembered for his tenacity and unwavering love for his family and community—with a golf club never far from reach.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Clubhouse of the Maggie Valley Country Club on his birthday, Friday, June 20th, at 4:00 p.m., for his friends and family in North Carolina. A future celebration will be planned for January in Winter Haven, Florida.
