Alma Darlene Channel, 59, of Swannanoa, died on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at her mother's home. A Buncombe Co. native, Mrs. Channel was a daughter of Alma Connor Allen, and of the late Charles Maxwell. She was also preceded in death by her husband Ronald Channel, who died earlier this year. Mrs. Channel had formerly worked at Hot Shot Café, and more recently had worked at Target. She is survived by her sons, Rick, Terry, Michael, and Scotty Moss; sisters, Jean, and Sandra Maxwell; brother, Eddie Maxwell; and grandchildren, Mayta, Walker, Montana, Courtney, Nigel, Anthony, Stephanie, Victoria, Andrew, Mylna, Rodrigo, and Clarriasa. A funeral service for Mrs. Channel will be at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Houston officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends following the service until 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.

My mother was my whole world i and i love her very much and will miss her as well.I will miss my mother but i will never forget her,with her vibrant and cheerful attitude she was great to be around and never a dull momment around mom and thats why i will never forget my mom.Now she has went on to be with the lord were she will suffer no more,and when the sun rises everyday i will know she is there watching making sure that we do the right thing and remind us that she loves us all.god bless her soul forever.

First i wanna say thank you for being my mother…you always the best friend and best person possible and u tried very hard to raise all four of us with that same look on life….i miss u jokes your tricks ….but most of all i miss seenin u and spendn time with you with my boys…you were a perfect mother and even better grandmother…i cant wait until im with you again…i love you momma!!!
