Alva R. Farmer, 67, of Johnston Blvd., died Sunday, March 18, 2012. A native of Clearwater, FL, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Dallas Glazner Reed. Mrs. Farmer was retired from the VA Hospital, having worked as a histology technician. She is survived by her husband, Charles P. Farmer, of Asheville. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. Her family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.

  1. Charlie – I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Alva. I worked with her at the VA for 8 or 9 years. She was such a unique and fun person. She will be greatly missed. My thought are with you and your family.
