  1. To the Lanning family:

Alvin was a prince of a man! Jessie and I always enjoyed talking with Alvin when he was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church. We loved to hear him talk about the past. He had so many stories to tell about working at the Biltmore Dairy Farm. He delivered our milk–many, many years ago. I’m glad that I got to see Alvin a couple of weeks ago. He was still talking about his faith in the Lord. Rest in the knowledge that Alvin is in a better place. As Christians, we have that same assurance.

We will meet and we will miss him. He was a gooden!

May God bless all of you abundantly and give you the peace that only He can give.

  3. To the Alvin Lanning Family.
I am very sorry to read that Alvin has passed away. I am sure he will me missed by many.
I worked with Alvin at Biltmore Dairy Farms. I always loved to hear his stories of the ‘old days’. And he seemed to always have a new one.
    Please except my condolesences.

  4. The last time I saw my Uncle Alvin we were standing in Le-an-Hurst Road, just down from his parents old house. He asked me about my most recent sojourn through Pisgah Forest.

My Aunt Mable, my cousin, Becky and her family are in the thoughts and prayers of me and my wife. I am only sorry that I was unable to attend the service for my uncle.

In sure and certain hope of the ressurection and the life everlasting,

  5. GOD BLESS AND COMFORT YOU THROUGH THIS DIFFICULT TIME. MR. LANNING WILL ALWAYS HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART AND MANY OTHERS AT CAROLINA INTERNAL MEDICINE.

My thoughts and prayers are with Mabel and the family.

  9. Alvin was a good friend to our family. He was a dear person who
would share memories of his family
and of his life. Knowing how much
his family will miss him, I pray for the healing of each of them.
