Amy Lynn Malt died Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at her home in Arden, North Carolina. She was 18 years old.

Amy is survived by her parents Robert and Susan (Hester) Malt, her sister Katy Sue, her brothers Kyle and Ryan, paternal grandparents Ann and Bob Harshman and Bob Malt along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Amy was born in Boca Raton, Florida on August 2, 2005, and with her family, moved to Arden at the age of 1. She loved playing soccer, acting, studying Spanish, and traveling. She dreamed of traveling abroad and seeing the world. She had planned to study Interior Design at Appalachian State University this fall. Amy is deeply loved by her family and friends and will be missed dearly.

A memorial in her honor will be held Sunday, June 2nd, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Skyland United Methodist Church, Asheville, NC.

In lieu of flowers, Amy’s family requests donations be made in her honor to 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, 988lifeline.org/donate.

  10. Dear Susan, I am so sorry to hear about this. My daughter Lauren was also interested in the Industrial Design department at AP State. We were touring it in Boone just a month ago. I wish they could have been friends like we were in high school. Sending you, your family and her friends a very big heartfelt hug and my sincere condolences.

  11. Im truly sorry to hear that Amy has left us unexpectedly I’m sure Amy grew up to be an amazing young woman and the world will miss her. I can’t imagine the grief that mum and dad are feeling there must be so much emptiness and an enormous hole that will over time be eventually filled with love happiness memories tears and laughter.
