Angela Griffin Miller

Angela "Angie" Griffin Miller, 70, of Asheville passed away on Friday, May 25, at her residence. Born in Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Lucille Howell Griffin. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a St. Paul's Half Century Club Member Mrs. Miller is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Miller. Survivors include daughter, Margaret "Meg" Bryson Coxie of Asheville; granddaughter, Emily Hope Coxie of Asheville; step-children, Joe Miller, Jr., of Fairview; Teresa Sorrells of Waynesville, Diane Dermit of Asheville, Mary Arocha of Savannah, GA, and Patricia Pinner of Asheville; and their spouses, children and grandchildren; brother, J.C. McGlasson and his wife, Nancy of Alexandria, VA, and sister, Beverly Fish of Asheville. A funeral service will be held at St. Paul's UMC, Wednesday, May 30, at 11 AM with Rev. In-Yong Lee officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The interment will be in Green Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's UMC, 223 Hillside Street, Asheville, NC, 28801. Groce Funeral Home, Tunnel Road, is assisting the Miller family.
