Ann Morrow Bellflower

ann bellflower

Ann Morrow Bellflower entered into the presence of Christ on August 2, 2025, with her family lovingly at her side.

Ann was born on March 22, 1946, to the late John Broadus and Gertrude Guffey Morrow of Fairview, NC. Ann attended Fairview Elementary School and AC Reynolds High School, where she was fittingly given the superlative of “The Most Courteous.” Ann attended Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, earning a degree in Dental Hygiene. She worked as a Dental Hygienist for many years before changing career paths and becoming a Real Estate Broker. She loved the WNC mountains, and helping others find and sell their homes there.

Ann served the Lord, her family and friends so well. She was an active member of Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church and then Biltmore Baptist Church for many years, always leading her family and others towards Christ.

Ann enjoyed caring for and spending time with her family and friends, meeting their needs and blessing others with her warm hospitality and homecooked meals. She enjoyed being on her family land, feeding and watching the birds and wildlife, and working in her vegetable and flower gardens. Reading, playing games, working puzzles, shopping and loving on the family dogs were some of her favorite pastimes.

Left to cherish many wonderful memories are her loving and serving husband, Richard; children, Kim and husband Blake, Ben and wife Emily; grandchildren, Hunter, Bryce, Ava, Blaire, Austin, and Anna. Ann was preceded in death by her brother Jim Morrow (and his wife Mary Francis), and is survived by her sisters June and husband Jerry Napier and Elaine Lisenbee, and their children and grandchildren, as well as many other dear relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends and family on Friday, August 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Groce Funeral Home, 1401 Patton Avenue in Asheville, with the funeral service following at 12:30 p.m. at the same location. Graveside service will be held directly afterwards at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery in Fairview.

  16. The Morrow family including Richard and Ann have meant more to me in my years from toddler to teen and into my early 20s. Each of them, including Ann, played a significant role of stability and faithfulness to the Lord throughout those tumultuous years. I have been in mission work for over 40 years now and often credit each of them for pointing me to Jesus. I love and appreciate each of you and am eternally grateful for Ann and all in my life. I am thankful for the hope of a great reunion before the throne someday.

  17. Notification of Ann’s death was shared on Facebook, and I immediately recognized her as my relative on my mother’s side of the family. Ann’s mother, was my grandfather’s sister, Gertrude, and I was always told with reverence that her Gertrude was my great aunt. My parents were high school sweet hearts and probably planned to live in Fairview their entire lives, but the need for solid work with benefits for their growing family drew them to migrate to Michigan at the height of General Motors’ influence; even so, we spent every summer and most spring breaks visiting our grandparents in ;Fairview, returning there to live permanently the year before I entered A.C. Reynolds High School. Many things force families to function separately, yet we long remember the heroes of family stories and their lasting kindnesses. I remember nothing but positive comments concerning Aunt Gertrude and her daughter, Ann. To Ann’s family, may you find strength as needed during this challenging time; peace be with you.

  18. Kim and family:

I am so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. Please know I’m lifting all of you up during this difficult time.
