Anne Bailey Dunning

Anne Bailey Dunning, 83, of 110 Belmont Ave., Asheville, died Wednesday, September 5, 2001 at her residence. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late William R. and Effie Grant Bailey. She was also preceded in death by her husband Arthur W. Dunning who died in 1969. She was a retired pediatric nurse with St. Joseph Hospital and a former Kindergarten Teacher with Calvary Baptist Church. She was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and a member of the XYZ Club. Her survivors include her daughters, Phyllis Lewin of Phoenix, OR, Linda Hughes of Mandeville, LA; sister, Christine Seay; brother, Maynard Bailey both of Marion; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Lewis and Rev. Dr. James H. Johnson will officiate with burial following in Green Hills Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
