Arthur Dennis Jarrett, 70, of Asheville, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014, at his residence.
Born in Buncombe County to the late John Wesley and Edna Hess Jarrett, he retired from Braswell Scale and Equipment with 45 years of employment, and was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. He loved to fish, hunt, camp and spend time with his family.
He also served in the National Guard.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by daughter, Karen Elizabeth Jarrett who passed away in 1980 and sister, Janet Bates.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary Jane Tuck Jarrett; daughters, Denise Hamlin and LeAnn Gibbs both of Asheville; and granddaughters,
Valerie Fleming and Ashley Gibbs.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road. Rev. Phil Sisk will officiate.The family will receive friends after the service.

I am so sorry for your loss. I first remember meeting Dennis as the big boy at our bus stop when I started first grade at Haw Creek. Over the years he was very kind to our family.
