Barbara Ann Robinson Hensley, 61, died unexpectedly Friday, April 22, 2016. A native of Buncombe County, Mrs. Hensley was a daughter of the late Frank Delbert and Nora Marie Capps Robinson. She worked in the nursing field for over 40 years and she was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Charles "Sam" Hensley; son, David Thomas (Kristie Jo); daughter, April Thomas (Gary); grandchildren, Brenten and Joshua Thomas, Ali and Adam Ledbetter, and Jonathon Vazquez; sister, Iva Fisher; brothers, Johnnie Robinson and Tony Robinson; and mother-in-law Joanne Robinson. She was a beloved mother and grandmother to all she knew. A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.

  1. Oh Bobbie, how you will be missed! I will miss your great hugs and beautiful smile that I loved to see on Sunday. Chey and Shelby along with BB will miss getting those hugs and telling everyone that you were their Nanny too. You were so special to us and I will miss terribly. From all our talks I know she had a life to celebrate and I pray the grief eases quickly, as it did with my mother, into the wonderful rememberings of a life well shared and lessons learned from someone who had much to teach.   18. I am blessed to have known Barbara. Such a beautiful person inside and out. One of the best nurses I have ever worked with. I will miss her beautiful smile, her infectious laugh, her words of encouragement, and mostly our early morning talks about life after we finished report. What a witness of God’s love she was to so many people. I know she loved her family tremendously, her eyes would light up every time she spoke of them. I hope you all find comfort in your memories and that you will see her again one day.

  19. So sorry to hear this news. Bobbie was the sweetest most sincere person I’ve ever known. I will always cherish our times together in our young teenage years and early twenties. What fun we had! Sorry we drifted apart over the years…..
    The Lord assuredly has you with him now.
