Barbara Ann Robinson Hensley, 61, died unexpectedly Friday, April 22, 2016.
A native of Buncombe County, Mrs. Hensley was a daughter of the late Frank Delbert and Nora Marie Capps Robinson. She worked in the nursing field for over 40 years and she was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Charles "Sam" Hensley; son, David Thomas (Kristie Jo); daughter, April Thomas (Gary); grandchildren, Brenten and Joshua Thomas, Ali and Adam Ledbetter, and Jonathon Vazquez; sister, Iva Fisher; brothers, Johnnie Robinson and Tony Robinson; and mother-in-law Joanne Robinson. She was a beloved mother and grandmother to all she knew.
A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Oh Bobbie, how you will be missed! I will miss your great hugs and beautiful smile that I loved to see on Sunday. Chey and Shelby along with BB will miss getting those hugs and telling everyone that you were their Nanny too. You were so special to us and I will miss terribly. Know that we will meet again one day my sweet friend!

Dear family, I so wish we could be there with you during this time. We love you all and pray God’s grace, peace and presence be felt as the road ahead will be difficult. Bobbie will still be there with you all and you will know when she is near. If there is anything we can do, please let us know.

Aunt Bobbie, I will love you and miss you all of my days. Thank you for always loving me and being there for me all of my life. I could not have made it without you. No one can ever fill your shoes. You are a perfect example of God’s love for everyone. I will spend my days praying for Uncle Sammy, Dawn and David and your grandbabies as I know that would be your only request. You going home has left us all broken and with a forever void but I will stand by God’s word and I will see you one day at our amazing family reunion. You will always be all trying good. Barbara was truely a beautiful person inside and out. She left her love on everyone she came in contact with. I feel blessed to have called her my friend. Fly high sweet angel love u bunches!

Yolanda, I am so sorry to hear of Nanny’s passing. From all our talks I know she had a life to celebrate and I pray the grief eases quickly, as it did with my mother, into the wonderful rememberings of a life well shared and lessons learned from someone who had much to teach. You remain in my prayers.
To the family we send our prayer of comfort and so sorry to hear of Bobbies passing. She was so sweet to brother Wayne at the Nursing Home. I am thankful I meet her and what a great nurse she was. Know that you will meet her again one day that will be a day of rejoicing.
I am blessed to have known Barbara. Such a beautiful person inside and out. One of the best nurses I have ever worked with. I will miss her beautiful smile, her infectious laugh, her words of encouragement, and mostly our early morning talks about life after we finished report. What a witness of God’s love she was to so many people. I know she loved her family tremendously, her eyes would light up every time she spoke of them. I hope you all find comfort in your memories and that you will see her again one day.
So sorry to hear this news. Bobbie was the sweetest most sincere person I’ve ever known. I will always cherish our times together in our young teenage years and early twenties. What fun we had! Sorry we drifted apart over the years…..
