Barbara Ann Swann, 67, of Marshall, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2008. Mrs. Swann was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny B. "Bobbie" Swann. She was employed by Ingles and Service America. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. An always very strong and independent woman, she is survived by her daughters, Debbie Lopez, Cindy Bridges, both of South Carolina; sons, Sam Jones, of Lake Lure, Jim Jones, of Marshall, and Ronnie Swann, of Asheville; sisters, Dixie Beachboard, Betty Jones, Lib Reece, Frances Lunsford, and Maxine Hipps, all of Asheville, and Marylou Maynard, of South Carolina; brother, Jerry Lipe, of Asheville; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Willard Norton officiating.
