Barbara Hope Roberts, 84, of Asheville, died October 21, 2011. She was born April 8, 1927 to the late Jacob Braselton Roberts and Fuchsia Tipton Roberts and had been a resident of Asheville all her life.
Barbara graduated from Grace High School in 1945 as Valedictorian of her class and retired from Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company after 30 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Roberts Stipp and brother, John Herbert Roberts.
Barbara is survived by her brother, Thomas Farrell Roberts and wife, Virginia of Asheville and sister Nancy Roberts Kiers of High Point, NC, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011.
I just saw Barbara’s Obituay today and was stunned by her death. I worked with Barbara over an 8 year period and never met anyone nicer. She was the dearest lady and I shall miss her greatly. My condolences to the Roberts Family.
