Barbara Kinard Revis, 79, of Arden, died Monday, February 20, 2017 at Mission Hospital. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Gussie Corpening Kinard. Barbara was a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School, and a longtime member of West Asheville Baptist Church and choir. Mrs. Revis is survived by her daughters, Diane Godwin and husband Mike, and Jackquelyn Deweese and husband Bruce; son Phillip Revis and wife Vickie; grandchildren, Jennifer, Brittany, Wesley, Paige, Timmy and Amy; great-grandchildren, Karli, Arabella, Raegan and Wyatt; and sister Mary Elizabeth Matthews. Funeral services for Mrs. Revis will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at West Asheville Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Stan Welch officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the choir fund of West Asheville Baptist, 926 Haywood Rd., Asheville, NC 28806.

  12. So sorry to hear about Barbara’s passing,we got to know her years ago at Diamond-K. She was a beautiful and a Precious person. We all had some fun times together..She would always call and invite us to the Easter program at west Asheville Baptist church, she loved being a part of that..Our Prayers are with all of her family, may God carry you all through this journey..Love and Prayers.
