Barney Arthur Feeney, Jr., 77, of 33 Bluebird Lane, Alexander, died Saturday, November 19, 2005, at Mission Hospital. A native of Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Barney A. Feeney, Sr. and Helen Elizabeth McKenzie Feeney. He graduated from Southern College of Pharmacy in Atlanta and was a pharmacist for the VA Medical Center. He was a US Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Helen Payne Feeney; a daughter, Tina Feeney Nelson and her husband Dana Robert of Pilot Mountain; a son Patrick William Feeney of Alexander; a sister, Elizabeth Shipwash of China Grove; a brother, Frank Feeney of Huntersville and one grandchild, Kyle Nelson. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Anthony Fox officiating. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens. His family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service and request that memorials be made to the Baptist Children’s Homes of NC, PO Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361-0338.

    I always loved hearing his stories of the military and pharmacy expriences.
    I will miss his ‘top of the morning greeting’.
