Beatrice Rice Robinson, 95, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on October 10, 2025. She passed away peacefully at the Riverbend Nursing Home in Asheville, NC.

Beatrice was a life long resident of Buncombe County and was born and raised in the Woodfin area of Asheville. She worked 6 years at the American Enka plant, 3 years at the Gerber baby food plant in Arden, CP Clare Co., The Citizens-Times newspaper, Mills manufacturing and nearly 13 years at Square D in Asheville. During retirement she volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She was a loving mother to three children and a member of Grassy Branch Baptist Church for over 70 years.

Beatrice was the daughter of the late Charlie Jay Rice and Bernice Anders Rice. She was the eldest daughter of thirteen children. She was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Louise Robinson, her former husband, Floyd Robinson, who was born in Yancey county and raised in the Emma section of Asheville and by her brothers; Carol, Denny, Bobby, Robert, Howard and Vaughn Rice; sisters; Willie Mae (Dodd) Doan and Hazel Dodd Wadley and three infant siblings.

She is survived by her sons; Gary Robinson (Kim) and Dennis Robinson (Teresa); a sister; Grace Rice Honeycutt; grandchildren, Landon Robinson (Andrea), Shane Robinson (Charla), Lacey Bell (Jon), Kelcie Barker (Phil), Jared Robinson (Hannah); step-grandchildren; Chris Chomic (Brittni) and Corey Chomic. Four great-grandchildren; Rakim Gaines (Drew), Genny Ruth Bell, Collins and Rhodes Robinson; great-great-grandchildren; Jaden Gaines and Nora Gaines.

A private Graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Asheville.

  1. I didn’t know her, but she passed away the same day my nephew did. Sending prayers for comfort in your time of need. Im so sorry She was a beautiful woman. Same age as my dad.
