Belva Elizabeth Greene, 82, of Fletcher, died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at her residence.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Emma Owenby Bradley. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, W.E. Howard, who died in 1981, as well as her second husband, Robert Greene, who died in 2003.
She is survived by four daughters, Carolyn Price and her husband, Herman, of Mill Spring, NC, Linda Haynes and her husband, Ronnie, of Asheville, Sally Smeltzer of Orange City, FL and Nancy Cornel of Asheville; four sons, J.B. Howard and his wife, Brenda, of Asheville, Bill Howard of Fletcher, Bruce Howard of Asheville and David Howard and his wife, Gail, of Asheville; three sisters, Elsie Ponder of Skyland, Joyce Bradley of Fletcher and Josie Thomas of Mills River; three brothers, Jim Bradley of Asheville, Ronald Bradley of Candler and Donald Bradley of Hendersonville; thirty grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Interment will follow at Emma's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

I am so sorry for the loss of your Mother and Grandmother. I worked with Belva
about 25 or 30 years ago at Deerfield .Belva was great lady and I enjoyed working
with her sometimes we would walk at our lunch time. Thoughts and Prayers are with you.
I am sorry to hear about Belva’s death. She was a good neighbor to me for almost ten years. I always enjoyed visiting with her on her back porch. Please accept my sincere sympathy for her children and family.
