Bertha Warren Dockery, 99, of Asheville, passed away January 30, 2016. A native of Marshall, NC, she was a daughter of the late Curtis and Mildred Lowe Bailey. She was also preceded in death by husband Sherman Warren and husband Alvin Dockery, daughter Vicky Hunicutt, and several brothers and a sister. Surviving are her daughters Bernice Brantley and Judy Warren; sons Lowery Warren and Jerry Warren; step-children Betty Carter and Claude Warren; six sisters and two brothers; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave., with the Revs. Mark Chase and Larry Sprinkle officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family wishes to express their many thanks to CarePartners and their staff and to Victory Church. She loved all of them as much as they loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville NC 28813, or to Victory Baptist Church, 80 Olivette Rd., Asheville, NC 28806.
