Bessie Parham Clemmons, 79, went home to be with Jesus and to join a very special grandson, Dean Plemmons, on Thursday, March 29, 2001.

She was a native of Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Charlie and Phoebe King Parham. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters.

Surviving are her husband, Harry Clemmons; four daughters, Margie Dysart, Pam Whitt, and Sherry Munden of Leicester, and Annette Waldroop of Charlotte; one son, Kenneth Worley of Fairview; a very special twin sister, Dessie Wood of Asheville, a brother, Northern Parham of Leicester; twelve grandchildren, Kenny Worley, Crystal Worley, Amanda Worley, Denver Worley, T.J. Whitt, Kelly Southerland, Ariel Waldroop, Heather Southerland, Amber Munden, Christopher Munden, Andrea Angel, and Tracey Whitt; six great-grandchildren, McKenna Southerland, John Southerland II, Rose Worley, Jade Greene, Andrea Greene and Nicholas Dennett; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Monday at Georgetown Baptist Church, which she attended, with the Revs. Lee Davis and Charles Worley officiating. Burial will be at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 9 pm Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and at other times will be at the home of Margie Dysart.
