Betty Foster Dillingham

Betty passed into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ on September 11, 2014. She was born in Asheville on February 8, 1928 to the late Elva Mayrene and Edgar Foster. She was also preceded in death by her husband, W. Herbert Dillingham as well as two siblings, Jacqueline F. Brackett and John H. Foster. During her adult life, she lived in several cities in the South. The majority of that time was in Atlanta, GA. While there, she worked as a secretary. Betty enjoyed square dancing and being sociable with all. Her favorite activity was singing, and sang in many choirs, beginning as a teenager at Haywood Street United Methodist Church, where she was a lifetime member. Most recently, she used her voice to uplift others in her assisted living facility. Betty's surviving siblings, W. Morgan Foster and Cynthia F. Edwards, along with Pat Foster and Doug Edwards, wish to thank Henderson's Assisted Living for giving Betty the care and love that she deserved during her last years. She is also survived by two sons. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park and the family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
