Betty Gasperson Robinson
Arden ~ Betty Pressley Gasperson Robinson, 81, of Arden, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the Elizabeth House.
A native of Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late Gus and Mamie McGraw Pressley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lee Robinson, who died in 1961 and three brothers, George, James and Clarence Pressley.
She worked with Ice Service Stores, Inc for over 30 years.
Betty's wit and humor were two of her greatest assets. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, whose memory will always be cherished.
She is survived by two sons, Randall Gasperson and his wife, Judy, of Fletcher and Clarence W. "J.P." Gasperson and his wife, Linda, of Charleston, SC; one daughter, Pamela Robinson Taylor of Arden; one brother, Bill Pressley of Fletcher; one sister, Ann Moore of Mills River; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 21, 2009 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Reverends David W. Taylor and Harold McKinnish officiating.
Interment will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park with her grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to either Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731 or to the Buncombe County Meals on Wheels, 146 Victoria Road, Asheville, NC 28801.
Our heart grieves for not only the family but her friends. She loved everyone she meet and will be dearly missed by everyone.
