Arden - Betty Gilbert Morgan, 76, of Brevard Road, died Sunday, July 22, 2007.
A native of Grovetown, GA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Vera Rushton Gilbert and also was preceded in death by two sisters, Sara Dillard and Clara Henson and her brother Sammy Gilbert.
Mrs. Morgan was a graduate of Lees-McRae College and a former surgical technician with Memorial Mission Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Larry J. Morgan; daughter, Sharon Hart of Arden; granddaughter, Stefeni Brown and two nieces, Linda Dillard of Winston-Salem and Vicki Robinson of Ringgold, GA.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by Tom Goodrich. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, PO Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.

I used to know Betty at work and enjoyed talking to her when tlme would permit. I’m retired now but like to keep up as much as I can with the employees I knew and liked the best. I want her family to know how sorry I am to learn about this.

Unfortunately, I only knew Betty for a few years but I know through you Sharon what a great lady she was. It is so very hard to let her go and all the words in the world will not make your loss any easier. Just don’t forget that your friends will be here to help you through this difficult time.
I have known Betty since I was a little boy back in the 60’s. She was a good friend and neighbor to all who knew her. Rest In Peace Dear Friend.
