Billy Flasher, 73, of 151 North Fork Rd., Black Mountain, died Saturday, November 25, 2006, at the VA Medical Center. He was a child of Christ and has gone home to be with the Lord. Mr. Flasher was born in Madison Co., and was a son of the late Jim and Bertha Hensley Flasher. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Bonada Ogle and a brother, Emmett Flasher. Mr. Flasher was a retired body man for Harry’s Body Shop. He was a US Army veteran. He attended Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute. Mr. Flasher is survived by his wife, Lucy Marler Flasher; sisters, Betty Metcalf, of Mars Hill, and Mary Allen Hunt, of Texas; brother, Marvin Flasher and wife Doris of Marshall; brother-in-law, Howard Ogle, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Thursday at the Western Carolina State Veteran’s Cemetery Chapel with the Rev. James Rice officiating. Interment will follow in the State Veteran’s Cemetery with military honors by the Buncombe County Veterans Council. His family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
