Billy James "BJ" Lefler

Billy James "BJ" Lefler, 87, of Candler, died on Friday, January 29, 2016, at the CarePartners Solace Center.
A native of Guilford Co., NC, Mr. Lefler was a son of the late Millard Guy and Carrie Thompson Lefler. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Miller Lefler, and by his brother, Millard E. Lefler.
Mr. Lefler owned and operated a land surveying business and had worked for the county. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII, and was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church.
Mr. Lefler is survived by his wife, Cheryl Cunningham Lefler; daughter, Cindy Geiger; sons, Greg Barnett and wife Kim, and Mike Barnett and wife Cheryl; grandchildren, Brittyn Johnson, Sarah Ashley Barnett, Hunter Barnett, and Jordan Dixon; and siblings, Marvin T. Lefler, Graham Lefler, Leila Lefler Jernigan, and Darryl F. Lefler.
A memorial service for Mr. Lefler will be at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at Oak Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Joe Tarpley officiating. His family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.
