Billy James Ingle, Sr.

Billy James Ingle, Sr., 82, of Asheville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 13, 2017. He was born on December 29, 1934 in Asheville to the late Dale and Helen Ingle. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Roeby, Jimmy and Bobby Ingle, all of Asheville. Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, serving from 1961 to 1962. He later retired from the Asheville Fire Dept. following 20 years of service. He also worked as an EMT with Buncombe Co. Ambulance. He was a member of Aaron Baptist Church. Mr. Ingle is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elaine Ingle; children, Christie Theresa Fox (Kenny), Billy James Ingle, Jr. (Wanda), and Helen Irene "Lynn" Shaw (Richard); six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Joy Allen and Kathy Ingle. The memorial service for Mr. Ingle will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Revs. Josh Ingle and Steve Ellis officiating.
