Arden – Billy Lee “Bub” Youngblood, 73, of 2544 Hendersonville Road, died Saturday, March 18, 2006, at his residence surrounded by his family and friends.
A native of Hoopers Creek, he was the son of the late Datis Lee and Margaret Wilkie Youngblood. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict, serving as an air traffic controller. He was a former member of the VFW.
Bub was a truck driver for more than 50 years, formerly working for Youngblood Truck Lines and Ingles Groceries. He loved all animals, especially his goats. He attended Calvary Episcopal Church.
A loving husband and father, he is survived by his wife Betty Reagan Youngblood; two daughters, Betsy Frady, and her husband Ronnie, and Joy McMinn, and her husband Billy, of Fletcher; two sons, Ronnie Youngblood, and his wife Pat, and Reagan D. Youngblood of Fletcher.
He also is survived by three sisters, Betty Jo Johnson of Fletcher, Carolyn Cobb of Lake Adger and Gloria (DeeDee) Anderson of Fairview; two brothers, Jack Youngblood of Hendersonville and James (Jabo) Youngblood of Fletcher; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm Monday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Rev. Dan Blackwell. The family will receive friends following the service.

Jabo & Ronnie: It was a real pleasure in knowing and working with Bub when we were at Bradley and also Sharp Motor Lines. He taught me a lot about being a driver and most of all to watch what I drank. He will be greatly missed. I wish all of you the best in this time of sorrow.
