Blake Rutledge Bailey, 23, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018. He was born February 7, 1995 in Asheville.
Blake was the son of Tom Bailey (Pam) and Mary Kay Bailey (Kenneth). He was preceded in death by his beloved “Papa”, Jack Wilde and “Grandy”, Ruth Rutledge Bailey.
In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his daughter, Aurora Bailey; brother, Ryan Bailey; step-brother, Matthew Robinson; maternal “Grandma”, Barbara Wilde; aunts and uncles: Doug and Mary Alice Bailey, Derrick Bailey and Kari Schrader, Greg Wilde, Carolyn Wilde and Rich Mancinelli; great-aunt, Janet Hogan and several cousins, including Calvin Mancinelli, Jennifer Bailey and Harrison Bailey.
Blake had an artistic soul and a giving heart. He was a gifted potter, pianist and guitar player who loved music, poetry, kayaking, snowboarding and skateboarding. He enjoyed building and repairing things and was proud of the 1000+ origami cranes which he’s created throughout his life. Above all, Blake loved his family and was a proud father.
A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at St. Barnabas Roman Catholic Church in Arden. A private interment will be held at Shepherd Memorial Park.
Flowers are appreciated and Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

Blake was a wonderful person, I’ve known him since he was 2 years old! My heart is broken for such a beautiful boy to be gone at such a young age! My thoughts are with his family during this very difficult time!
