Blanche Stewart Rogers

Arden ~ Nellie Blanche Stewart Rogers, 89, died Monday, November 24, 2003 at Fleshers Fairview Health Center. A native of Stephens County, GA, Mrs. Rogers was a daughter of the late John Henry Stewart and Loutisha Rowe Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Leslie "J.L." Rogers, who died in 1970, an infant daughter, Shelia Rogers, five sisters and five brothers. Mrs. Rogers was owner/manager for 20 years of Rogers Grocery Store and was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Eastanolle, GA. Survivors include four daughters, Carolyn Bartlett of Bostwick, FL, Joan MacFarland of Astor, FL, Evelyn Kelly of Arden and Judy Tucker of Jacksonville, FL; two sons, Don Rogers and Terry Rogers, both of Arden; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great, great-grandchildren and a special nephew, Frank Cothran of Asheville. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with Rev. Perry Brindley officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
