Robert Simpson “Bob” Wallace, 56, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

Raised in West Asheville, Bob was a son of Robert Donald and Susan Elizabeth Shirlin Wallace. Bob was a graduate of Erwin High School, Class of ’83. He was also a member of Richland Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Ronda McLendon Wallace; daughter, Christina Marie Denny (John) and their daughter, Violet; son, Bobby Wallace (Kandace Worley); brothers, Donald Wallace (Cindy) and Brian Wallace (Jennifer); many special nieces and nephews whom he loved very much, and many other family members.

Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Wallace.

Bob’s family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at 5:00 p.m. Pastor Jack Gassaway will officiate. It was Bob’s request that everyone in attendance dress in bright and colorful attire, and please no black clothing. A recording of the service will be added to this page in the coming days.

  1. So so sorry for the loss. Bob was always smiling and friendly to his fellow workers at GE and will be sadly missed. I pray that God will help you deal with your loss and bless your family.

  2. I can almost hear Bob saying ” No black clothing”. He was a great co-worker, always ready to help out. If I needed information on ordering things, he was always there to share his knowledge. It was a pleasure to know him. I will miss you Bob.

  8. Bob was a wonderful man. I enjoyed working with him and Don for many years at GE before my retirement. He always had a smile for everyone. My heart goes out to his family. He will be missed.

  9. Bob was always very helpful when he was called upon to do maintenance on one of our machines and he will be greatly missed. The family is in our thoughts and prayers, may you experience the peace and presence of the God of all Comfort.

  13. I’m going to miss Bob so very much. He was always smiling and a pleasure to be around. Always good for a laugh. Work Is not going to be the same. Bob was always a friend and cared about whatever you needed to talk to him about. I pray for God to give solace to all the family and friends as I know that we will meet Bob again when we get the final call to come home.
