Bonnie C. Hickey

     Bonnie C. Hickey, 70, of 359 Barton Road, Asheville, died Monday, November 16, 1998, in an Asheville hospital.
                                   
     Mrs. Hickey was born in Madison County and was a daughter of the late Walter
Cutshall.  She lived in Buncombe County for most of her life and was a graduate of
Warren Wilson Junior College and Cecil’s Business College.  She was a Real Estate
Broker associated with Sorrells Realty, and was the owner and operator of Kozy Korners
Realty.  She was also Secretary and Treasurer of Red Hickey’s Alignment Service, Inc.

     She was active in civic affairs and was long-time secretary of the West Asheville
Business Association.  She was also business manager of the Asheville Youth Choral
Society, member of the Asheville Board of Realtors, and member of the Asheville-
Buncombe Library West Asheville History Project Board.  She was also a member of the
Weaverville Presbyterian Church.

     She is survived by her husband, W.D. “Red” Hickey;  two daughters, Mary Beth
Lehnert of Franklin and Patty Fisher of Asheville;  a granddaughter, Hannah Patricia
Lehnert;  her mother, Lovona Shelton Cutshall of Madison County;  six sisters, Leona
Shelton, Mona Shelton, Della Sue Shelton, Jean Shelton, Wanda Adkins, and Donna Rice;
and a brother, Conley Cutshall.

     Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home Chapel with
the Rev. David L. Parks officiating.  Burial will be at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.

     Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home and
request that memorials be made to WMIT Radio, US Highway 70 West, Black Mountain,
NC 28711, or to the Presbyterian Home for Children, 80 Lake Eden Road, Black
Mountain, NC 28711.
