Arden - Bruce Lee Pippin, 52, of Thumper Lane, died Friday, December 27, 2002 in a Hendersonville hospital. A native of Eufaula, Alabama and a resident of Buncombe Co. for most of his life, he was a son of Johnnie Mae Stanford Pippin Wooten of Eufaula and of the late Comer Pippin. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Pippin, who died in 1999. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was an eighteen year employee of the CP&L Skyland plant. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Connelly Pippin, two daughters, Shellie Ranea Pippin Edwards of Arden and Elizabeth Joy Pippin of Arden; two grandchildren, Kristen Faith Huntley and Christopher Childs Huntley; and a brother, Ben Pippin of Eufaula, Ala. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Revs. Greg Pippin and Carl Bishop. Burial will follow in the Avery’s Creek Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don M. Pippin, Mark Pippin, Steve Pridmore, Brad Pridmore, Adam Boone and Richie Dusinberre. His family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Monday at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road. Memorials may be made to the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation, 500 Morris Ave., Springfield, NJ 07081.
