Your spirit touched me Carla.
I am so sorry about your daughter. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I was truly taken back when I heard this from my Aunt Doris who lives in Brevard. Carla and I both attended Western together and at one time we lived across the hall from one another. She was such a dear, caring, and beautiful person. I truly considered her my friend even though we lost contact with one another over the years. My thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to this family. May she rest in peace.
I am a close friend and co-worker of Barbara at McDowell Hospital in Marion. Just wanted you to know I am praying for all of you at this difficult time. May God Bless You!!!
Carla was a bright, kind, generous woman who was artistic and shared her love of enjoyment with her friends and loved ones. She loved being an aunty and would have liked to have seen her niece. She had a lot of love in her heart. Her voice was hauntingly beautiful. When she dressed, I would see her as a walking art piece. God bless our Carla. She was a good friend to me and she taught me to remember that we are here for a short time. I value and cherish my life and the love of my friends and family. God bless the Higdon family. Carry on as best you can!
I love you all,
Tania
Frankie, I had hope to be there to share this day with you and your family. It breaks my heart that you and your family are having to face this sorrow unexpected and it seems so early in life for Carla. I know she will be missed. It’s good that we have the Lord during these trying times! Deanna Rogers
The sound of her voice
her charisma and charm
her style
her smile, and especially her laugh
her talented art
her big, playful heart.
Her passion for ritual and ceremonial prayer,
of course always done with elegance and flair
her strength
her beauty
and her strong sense of feminine duty.
These are just a few of the things that I keep with me and cherish about my dear friend Carla, my virgo soul sister.
I love you CARLA and will miss you dearly.
Carla’s 50th birthday was yesterday (August 24), and as full of life as she was, it is still hard for me to realize that she is gone. We had a long friendship full of self discovery and love. We did have our ups and downs, but we always reconnected. I met her when I was 16 at Cullowhee HS, and spent endless amounts of time with her. We reconnected again in Asheville where we resumed our friendship as if there was never a gap. In 1990, I moved to Indiana, and sadly, never saw her again. Her death had a huge impact on me, and I became obsessed with filling in the gaps. I searched out everything I could find via the internet to connect the dots. One thing I found was that she was LOVED by all who met her. She was an important part of my life as I believe I was in hers. I loved her dearly and miss her more than expected. Her life was short, but she lived every moment. May we meet again, dear Carla. Love and Peace dear friend. Stacey Higdon (Collins).
