Carrie Lee Frisbee Cooke

Carrie Lee Frisbee Cooke, 103, of Asheville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the Givens Estates Healthcare Center, where she had resided for the past 7 years. Carrie was the daughter of the late James Lee and Kitty Alexander Frisbee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Thurston Cooke; two brothers, Dan and Woody Frisbee and a sister, Julie Sprinkle. She is survived by one son, Joseph Lee Ramsey of Ecuador, South America; one daughter, Maria Jackson of Asheville; two granddaughters, Lydia Jackson Connerty of Atlanta, GA and Debbie Jackson of Fairview; three great-grandsons, Hugh Connerty, III of Jacksonville, FL, Cameron Connerty of Los Angeles, CA and Harrison Lee Schwartz-Jackson of Fairview. Mrs. Cooke worked for many years at Bon Marche' Department Store and was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church for 57 years. Carrie will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Green Hills Cemetery with Rev. Tony Hooper of West Asheville Baptist Church officiating. Leo Jackson, Don Randolph, Marco Boot and Lee Schwartz will serve as honorary pallbearers.
