She made us all laugh…and I loved to hear her stories, her love for her family, how her brother would play practical jokes on her growing up and how much she loved him for it, how great her parents were…and, of course, the love she had for Molly! Always smiling, always cheerful, always living life to its fullest. She always made it a point to have M&Ms on her desk for us to snack on…always thoughtful, always positive, and always glowing. We miss her!

  48. Dear Gene, Diane and Hampton:

How can I ever express how deeply sorry I am for your great loss. Cassie was always so sweet and kind to me and to Trevor. She always had that beautiful smile and that twinkle in her eyes. Everyone could just see the joy and the kindness in her. Trevor is so very sad and is having a hard time understanding, as is everyone I am sure. 99. Cassie was one of the most special people I’ve ever known and made me a better person. My thoughts and prayers are with Mr and Mrs Rutledge and Hampton. Cassie will always be a special part of my life.

  100. Dear Mr. and Mrs. Rutledge.
Please accept my sincerest condolences. I had the privilege of working with Cassie at Coldwell Banker. She was such a lovely and considerate lady. She was a dedicated worker, but always had time to recognize all and share her wonderful smile. She was a very kind and thoughtful person. She will be greatly missed. I am thankful for having known her. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

  101. We live in the same condo as Cassie. She was always so friendly and always had a smile on her face. We have a lab who LOVED her and she always loved to see him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, and we will miss seeing her smiling face.

  102. Cassie and I worked together at Coldwell Banker for several years. I can still hear that unique laugh….she called me ‘LV’ with a certain emphasis which always made my day. One day we found out that Asheville High was in a lock-down and Cassie was so upset. Her Mom was working at the school that day and she couldn’t get a hold of her. She called her brother and was extremely upset that she couldn’t get in touch with her Mom. Luckily everything turned out fine. Cassie was so proud of her family. Life goes on but will never be the same without her………

  103. Gene, Diane and Hampton,
Cassie will be missed by so many people. Please know that we can only imagine the heartbreak and pain you must be feeling right now. We will continue to pray for your family.

  104. Dear Rutledge Family, We are so sorry for your loss. Cassie was a wonderful young lady and touched so many lives. Your little Angel will be truly missed. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

  108. Dear Rutledge Family,
If I could sit across the porch from God, I would thank him for lending us Cassie. The memories of her smiling face will never disappear. If there is anything I can do, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Love,

  109. Dear Rutledge Family,

I didn’t know Cassie for very long, but as I was training her to take over my Mountain Air position, we worked very closely for weeks. She was so bright and shiny that it was disarming at times, but I came to know that her love of life and of those around her was completely genuine. I am blessed to know her and look forward to our reunion in Heaven. I pray you take comfort in our God who ‘…is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms…’ Deut 33:27

    Love in Christ,
    Joan

  130. Diane, Gene and Hampton,

I just heard about Cassie. I’m truly shocked and very saddened. Cassie will always be the little ball of energy that played with my girls not so many years ago. Many have mentioned in this guestbook her zest for life and that was obvious even back then. I’ll treasure my memories of her smile and laughter.

The world is a sadder place without her but our loss is heaven’s gain. My heart goes out to you and my family and I will keep you in our prayers.

  133. Mrs. Rutledge, I am just now learning of the loss of your beautiful Cassie. I am so sorry. No one ever understand why the Lord brings his childern home so early. But his plan is perfect and his promise is true. One day we will see her again. Thank you for introducing her to me. And thank you for sharing in her and your excitement when she made the cheerleading team at Roberson. You were a very proud mom. She was a sweet girl and will always be with you and your family. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers as what would have been her 30th birthday arrives. May the Lord comfort you.

  134. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I knew Cassie from school and of all the moments and memories that i have and shared with her the one that stands out the most was my last day of school. Cassie made it a point to give me the biggest hug as I walked down those halls one last time. She left everyone she met with a warm heart and a smile on their face. Cassie I will always remember your smile.

  135. Mrs. Rutledge,

My deepest condolences for your loss. While I never met your beautiful daughter, I’m sure she was just as delightful and sweet as you! You inspired me to always be better, and I thank you for that. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers!

  136. I am so sorry to hear for your loss. And a great loss it was. Willingly we should thank God and appreciate the fact that she is in a far better place. But unfortunately, those whose lives she has brightened and touched will surely never be the same. It was a great honor to know Cassie and to have her as a fellow classmate at TC Roberson. She always wore a smile on her face. I always thought she was a very beautiful and sweet girl. My deepest condolences go out to your family. She will truly be missed.
