C.D. Williams

C.D. WILLIAMS, SR. ASHEVILLE – Clarence D. Williams, Sr., 93, died Monday, January 17, 2011, at his home. Mr. Williams was born in Pennsylvania, and was a son of the late Larimar and Beulah Conrad Williams. He began his career in Asheville with Thomas Buick, the predecessor of Deal Buick, and remained with Deal for 23 years. He also worked with Harry's Cadillac and retired as Service Manager from Skyland Automotive. Following his retirement, he concentrated on his avocation of propagating hybrid rhododendrons. He is survived by his wife, Katherine G. Williams; two daughters, Katherine Creery and Elizabeth Pendergrass, and a son, David Williams, Jr. and wife Frances Ann, four grandchildren, Lisa Ann MacKey and husband, Richard, David Bennett Williams, William Creery and Hunter Pendergrass, and two great-grandchildren. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue will announce the arrangements for a memorial service at a later date.
