Cecil was loved by everyone! My heart breaks to know he is no longer with us. He was my dear friend and coworker and I will forever remember his great smile and the way he always made everyone around him feel good. If I needed anything he was always there to help. The family will be in my prayers and Cecil will always be in my memories. He will be truly missed.
Nina, I am so sorry for your loss. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Cecil made everyone feel seen and appreciated, and was such an important member of the Community Action family. He did so much to make the office feel like a home away from home for me. I send my thanks to his family for sharing him with us, and my deep condolences to you all for your loss.
I am going to miss you so much. I love you uncle Cecil rest in peace
Your neice Jombya Poore
Sincere condolences to the Poore and Dillingham families on the lost of your loved one. May you find peace and comfort in the Lord
I don’t believe I have ever met a kinder, or more generous person than Cecil. In all of the years I have known him, I have never heard him utter a negative word about anyone, or not offer a helping hand when it was needed.
We always had a lot of fun talking about ‘the lottery’, and when he said ‘when I win, I’ve got you covered’, I know he meant it. We have missed him a lot here at CAO, and we will continue to miss him.
God Bless Nine, Paul, Jeff, and all of the family

Nina,
Our prayers go out to you and the rest of the family in the passing of our beloved Cecil. He was our dear, dear friend and co-worker. Cecil was always a caring and gentle spoken person. When Cecil came to the office, he would always visit for a while. He had a very distinctive laugh and we laughed a lot and we laughed hard (sometimes to the point of tears!). Oh, how much he will be missed! We thank God that he allowed us to cross paths in this life. God bless each of you.
My prayers to the Poore family. Ron has spoken so eloquently about his father and the role model he was to him. May God wrap His arms around the entire family.
Cecil will be dearly missed. He was an open, friendly, humorous, kind-hearted and caring person. Our prayers go out to Nina and the rest of the family at this very sad time.
Keeping your family lifted in Prayer in your time of need. He will truly be missed by a lot of people. If we can do anything for you all please let us know. Sorry for your loss.

Praying for the entirer family
Granddaddy I’m going to miss you so much and I know you are not here physically but I know your energy and your spirit still lives on. I will miss your smile, your laugh, and your presence. You and Nina helped raise me and I will forever be grateful for that, from y’all dropping me off and picking me up from school and me just smiling with my chipmunk teeth to to me going to y’all job at the theater and playing. My childhood was a great one because I had some wonderful, hard-working, caring, and loving grandparents. One of the best moments I had was when I was older in my late teens and granddaddy and Nina came down to Charlotte and we was in the car with my mom and Gucci mane was playing and me and mom was looking at each other like what in the world, then granddaddy start dancing and rapping to it and Nina was singing along as well, I had one of the best laughs of my life and I always knew my grandparents where hip but I didn’t know they were hip like that lol. Granddaddy one thing I truly admired about you is your youthfulness, no matter how much older you got, you always remained youthful, you gave me a new perspective that no matter how old I get, it’s not about age it’s about how you feel when you get older. Your only as old as you feel basically. Granddaddy you will live on in my heart and memory and I know that you are still here with us and I may get sad at times but I know when I look up you are looking down on me and the rest of the family. I love you.
Cecil will be missed. Hope you find peace with happy memories. God bless you all.
Cicil and his sweet family were such a blessing to me and my husband Fred at the Laurals, for the last months. Nina was so devoted to Cecil and such a help to me.God bless this wonderful family’
Cecil has been missed this past year. He was such a big part of the Community Action Opportunities family. He never went back on his word and did everything he could to make our spaces ready for work! He loved life and his family; the lottery, McDonald’s and auto racing. I loved to hear his laughter and was so grateful many of an early morning when the alarm went off at the Lonnie D. Burton Center and he would go meet the police so that I could stay snug in bed. He was a genuinely good man! Blessings and peace to you, his family.
May I please add my condolence for the Poore family. From what I read he must have been a wonderful person. May the God of comfort help you through this difficult time.
Our condolences go out to all the family. You all are in our thoughts and prayers. May God Bless and keep you.
Sincerely
Dottie Mills and Andre Thomas
