There won’t be a day for many days to come that I won’t pick up the phone to call and have such a comforting voice on the other end of the line to comfort me through the happy and sad times that life hands out. Jackson and Logan will always remember….so many great memories. Everyone in Candler that drives a blue truck with a ladder rack will always be ‘Charlie T’ and will remind us of all that he meant to us. I know that he is in heaven with the biggest smile that we have not seen in a while, holding hands with his most precious, loved and missed lady.

  15. Charlie was the most giving person that I have ever known. He loved the springtime when he could stop by the farmers market and bring a bucket of strawberries to work. Then in the summer he loved to share his tomatoes and peppers. Job site workers loved to see him coming because he always had a cooler full of water and soft drinks in his truck.

I will certainly miss his 6am calls to work several times a week ‘just to check in’. I will miss my friend ‘CT’.

  16. I am so glad I got the privilege to know Charlie. He was a good man and would do anything he could to help you out.
We worked together at Moore’s then at Jennings. I remember one Saturday My oldest son which was about five yrs. old at the time and I went to a job site with Charlie. My son walked around the whole time picking up scrap wire and wire nuts. When we left Charlie gave him five dollars for picking up the trash and this was not even Charlies house. My son is twelve now and he still talks about Charlie and that five dollars still today.
He will be missed greatly but I know he is in a better place.

  17. I can’t even begin to imagine all the things I will miss about Charlie. From the ‘Hey neighbor’ every time we spoke to swapping spinach dip for fudge at Christmas. I will miss finding odd things on my doorstep and mostly I will miss his kindness and that wave of his hand each time he pulled into the driveway on his way up the hill. Charlie and Ruth were without a doubt the greatest neighbors anyone could have. More then that they were family. Jody, Leeanne and Randy, you all are so special to our family and in our prayers always. We can praise God for a reunion going on in heaven.
    God Bless all of you.

  18. Charles was a wonderful thoughtful person. He loved his family, friends, church and life. Our prayers go out to his loving family who will miss his ready smile and humor forever.

  19. Dear family and friends–so much I could say and stories I could tell about Charlie..I loved Charlie and will miss him so much–My thoughts and prayers are with you

  20. I will miss sitting beside Charlie in church every Sunday. What a great guy, what a wonderful family. I am rejoicing with him for his reunion with Ruth in glorious Heaven. We love you all.

  23. Charlie was a wonderful person, a customer for 20 yrs, always a kind word and a smile. He will be truly missed.May god be with the family during this time.

  24. I am the daughter of Buster & Elsie Lunsford and know Charles & Ruth through them and attending New Morgan Hill Baptist Church. May God bless their family and friends.

    Patricia Harrison

  25. Although I knew Charlie primarily through Jennings to whom I sold trusses, Charlie and I became good friends and confidants. To me, Charlie was always a prince among men and I counted him as a dear friend. He was a fine Christian man and I looked up to him. He was always fair and honest in any dealings we had and I held him in the utmost esteem.
I hate that he had to go the way he did but on the other hand I rejoice that he is at rest, at peace and in full joy with his Lord and Savior in Heaven where there will be no more tears, no sorrow, no heartache and no labors but joy and peace forever more, Charlie will be with his loved ones forever and he will be in my heart for as long as I live.

  26. As I reflect back on my business dealings with Charlie,I can’t ever remember a more honest and hard working individual as him.He always greeted me with a smile regardless the problem and was so appreciative of my efforts. The way he conducted business was an example for all of us to follow.I’m so thankful for my times with Charlie and that his grandchildren were old enough to know him and his positive influence on so many.God Bless You Charlie.

  27. Randy,Leeanne,&Jody

My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of your loved ones. Knowing your family for many years has truly been a blessing.

Jody, I know what a very special friend you are to Tadd. I miss your visits with him here in Candler, and words cannot express the sorrow I felt at the loss of your Mother, and now the loss of your Dad. They were two very special people and so are their children.

    has.

  29. Randy, Leanne and Jody,
I got the call with sadness about Charlie. But as I sit and think about it, its not a sad day at all. He’s at home with Jesus and I can almost see Ruth meeting him as he arrived there. 34. Dear LeeAnne, Randy and Jody:
It is hard to hear that a good man has gone to Heaven. But what a wonderful place to be. I worked with Charlie at Moore’s. It was one of my first jobs, while I was still in high school at ENKA. He was such a kind man, he taught me alot about the lumber business. He was also there with a smile or a joke.
He will be missed by many. I’m glad your Mom was there to great him.
    Dawn Rhymer Hinson

So sorry for your loss, but he is now reunited with your mom in Heaven and I hope that brings some comfort to you.

  39. I have had the priviledge of knowing members of the Treadway family for many years. Ruth with a smile and an eagerness to help at the Enka Post Office, Randy with his happy personality as he called on our office each month with Z Medical,(I still miss him)…and Charlie as he would enter our office at Best and start the fun and laughter even on a bad day.

He was a customer, a consultant, but most of all he was a Christian Friend that was always there to listen, help, and understand.

    He will be greatly missed.

My prayers are with this precious family.. You were and are truly blessed with these parents and role models they were to you.
