Cherille Dian Ingram, 87, of Asheville, NC died on January 31, 2025. Cherille was born on July 12, 1937 in Logan County, Ohio. She is survived by her son Gary Hossler (Jeeni), Bailey, NC; her daughter Amy Wolfe (Rick), Marshall, NC; sister Lorna Hartmann, Kentucky; grandchildren, Kendra Kelly (Patrick), Burnsville, NC; Diana Brown (Dan), Kansas City, KS; Nicole Wolfe, Marshall, NC; great-grandchildren, Aiden Kelly, Burnsville, NC; Bazalel Brown, Kansas City, KS; Harper Kelly, Burnsville, NC; and Boaz Brown, Kansas City, KS. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Ingram, and mother, Elsa Lois Ingram, Bellefontaine, OH, husband, Frank Hossler and husband, Robert Chambers.

Cherille’s joy was being a Mom, Nana (to more than just her biological grandchildren) and servant of the Lord. She served as church secretary at Calvary Assembly in Orlando, FL; at Raleigh Christian Community in Raleigh, NC; and at Gateway Church in Woodfin, NC. In her later years, she loved volunteering at the Billy Graham Training Center the Cove in Asheville, NC. When she wasn’t at church, she could be found wherever her family and friends were; cheering her grandchildren and great grandchildren on at sports events, walking on the beach with her son and daughter-in-law at the Outer Banks, sharing a meal together, or exploring the roads and mountains of Western North Carolina. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed.

A service to celebrate Cherille’s life will be held on Friday, February 7, at Gateway Church, Woodfin, NC at 7 PM.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I remember when I lived in Asheville and attended Gateway serving with Cherille. I took up the offering, counted it and haded it to her. She was patient and always had a smile on her face. While I pray for Amy and the rest of the family, I know they can take comfort in knowing she is with Jesus.

  2. Condolences to the Family. Thank you for sharing your mom with us at Mars Hill Manor. She was a gem and will be missed.

  3. I enjoyed our phone conversation’s! She and I saw eye to eye politically! But I enjoyed more than anything else was what a faithful Christian she was. She professed and lived her faith!
What a blessing she was! Rest well Cherille.

  4. I will never forget all the many happy memorues we shared, especially cleaning Gateway church on a regular basis. We loved our volunteer time making sure Gods house was clean and welcoming. I especially loved decorating the church and grounds for special occasions. Cheryl always backed me up. Those were the days I especially love to recall. My sweet friend will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Especially me.

  5. We are not promised a tomorrow, so we have to live for today. Cherille , you did just that!
Thank you for your wisdom and for being a part of our lives at Mars Hill Manor.
    Pamela
