Arden ~ Clemeth G. Alexander, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at her residence. A native of Buncombe, Mrs. Alexander was born March 5, 1910 to the late Charlie and Jerlene Davis Graham. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl C. Alexander and two sisters, five brothers and one stepson. Mrs. Alexander was employed by American Enka Corporation and retired in 1975. Clemeth was a member of the Oak Grove Christian Church of Avery's Creek. Survivors include her son, Gilbert J. Alexander of Arden; stepson, Raymond Alexander of Black Mountain; sister, Genevieve Boone of Arden; granddaughter, Janice Gilbert of Hendersonville and several nieces and nephews. She will be loved, cherished and missed by all. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 AM at Avery's Creek Christian Church Cemetery with Bill Edmondson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:30 PM Friday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.

  1. I am sorry that I missed the furnal service, I was out of town during the time. When I was a child growing up on Avery Creek Clemeth did things for me that have helped me thru out my life, she was a wonderful person.

    So sorry about the loss of your Mother. I sure know how you feel.
