Conrad Charles Schubert

Conrad Charles Schubert, 81, of 144 Sondley Parkway, Asheville, died on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Memorial Campus Mission Hospitals. A native of West Caldwell, NJ, Mr. Schubert was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Monika Helms. Mr. Schubert had been employed with the State Dept. He also sang with the Land of Sky barbershop chorus, and was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Schubert is survived by his wife, Elfriede Schubert; daughters, Susie Mayhue, of Ada, OK, Lori Pratt, of Knottingham, NH, and Roxanne VonNordheim, of Potomac, MD; step-daughters, Elvira Hebda, of Haymarket, VA, and Evelyn Phillips, of Hinton, WV; step-son, Peter Phillips, of East Lawnmeadow, MA; sister, Doris Hidy, of Placitas, NM; and eight grandchildren. The memorial service for Mr. Schubert will be at 4:00 p.m. Friday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Mr. Rusty Scheewe officiating. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
