  23. MA, Jeff, family and friends: I share your sorrow at this very sad time. Clark was indeed a remarkable man, whose many attributes go beyond measure. He had an uncanny way of lighting up a room by his mere presence. Whether it was a business meeting or simply a gathering of friends, when you saw Brink, you could expect humor in some fashion. He had a unique gift of endearing himself to everyone whose path he crossed. Clark had an extraordinary passion for life and no doubt if he had written his ‘final order’; it would have been much the same as it was. He possessed an infinite spirit of generosity & compassion that reached well beyond the realm of those closest to him. He will continue to live in the hearts of all who loved him & his memory will be kept alive by the countless humorous stories and adages that were so distinctly ‘Brink’! His laugh was infectious. To know Clark was to love him; what a legacy!

I trust that your faith and cherished memories will provide comfort and healing. Continued thoughts and prayers.

  41. Hi, I just wanted to tell Clark’s family, how sorry I am for their loss. I knew Clark when we went to high school together at Erwin. I was only in the 10th grade but he was very nice to me. He was bettr friends with my brother Johnny. He used to give us rides to school a lot. I know it was really because of my brother Johnny, but he was very sweet about me coming with them. When he came over to our house to get Johnny he always took the time to say hello to me and talk a few minutes. I just wanted all of you to know that he was a very kind person even 48 years ago. So I’m not surprised that he turned into a very kind man…….Billie Ann Metcalf

  42. Machelle,

I am very sorry for your loss. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

    Mayea Reeves

  43. Clark has been a part of my life for 61 years. It is hard for me to believe that he will no longer be, except in my memories. I will miss him so much as I know all of you will.
He always called Jane ‘Miss Jane’ and she thought the world of him. One of her memories is riding home with him from a store set years ago and they stopped in Travelers Rest to eat lunch. Clark, being in a hurry, told the waitress that they each wanted the special without even asking Jane.
We all have great stories and memories that will be with us always.
    Love,
    Harley Gene and Miss Jane

  44. on the 12th of November Clark received the ‘Bill Blanton Award’ during his 35th appearance at his favorite golf tournament ‘Blantons Blast’ in recognition of all he had done to promote fun and fellowship over the years.

I was with my long time friend at the moment he passed and I want to assure all he suffered no pain and was doing one of the things he loved most in life, playing golf with his friends.

in honor of Clark his friends played a special memorial tournament on Sunday raising several thousand dollars to be donated to his favorite charity.

we will all miss him very much

  45. I was so sorry to hear of Clark’s unexpected passing. I met Clark about 30 years ago, while working for Atlas Marketing. The last time I saw him was in the Harris Teeter in Davidson, NC a few weeks ago. He was always upbeat and having fun.

God Bless Clark and the entire Brinkley family.
