Dale Arthur Hamlin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on February 28, 2024, at the age of 81, in Asheville, North Carolina. Dale was born on May 30, 1942, in Yuba City, California, to Arthur Francis Hamlin and Anne Elizabeth Troedson. He was one of five children and the only boy, with sisters Pat, twin sister Jani, Barbara & Carol. Dale is preceded in death by his parents.
Dale graduated from Capuchino High School in Milbrea, California, in 1960. He pursued higher education at Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Following his graduation, Dale joined the USAF as a reservist. At the same time, he went to work at TWA as a ticket agent. Dale’s unit was activated in 1967 and he rose to the rank of Technical Sergeant.
It was during his time with TWA Airlines that he met the love of his life, Elissa Lynn Ball who also worked for TWA as a flight attendant. In 1967 they were married. Together, they raised three children: Christian Eric Hamlin, Brendon Arthur Hamlin, and Cortney Brooke Hamlin Jackson. Dale took great pride in his family and cherished every moment spent with them. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering support.
Throughout his life, Dale demonstrated a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. For nearly 50 years, he dedicated himself to real estate and real estate development, building and selling property all over the United States. His contributions to the field were significant, and his impact will be felt for generations to come.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dale was known for his generosity, kindness, and sense of humor. He had a zest for life and an infectious enthusiasm that endeared him to all who knew him.
Dale’s memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Elissa; his children, Christian, Brendon, and Cortney; his daughters-in-law Annie Erwin Hamlin and Sarah Rogers Hamlin, his son-in-law Ransom Jackson and his 14 grandchildren; along with a host of extended family members and friends. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of Dale’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Eastern Time on March 23, 2024 at the Mills River United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Veterans Healing Farm – https://www.veteranshealingfarm.org/ in honor of Dale’s memory.
