David "Donnie" Osley Jr.

April 6, 1965 ~ May 29, 2020
Born in:
Homestead, FL
Resided in:
Fletcher, NC
David “Donnie” Osley Jr., 55, went to be with the Lord on the morning of May 29, 2020 following a courageous battle with stage 4 melanoma liver cancer.
Donnie was born in Homestead, FL in 1965 to Joan and David Osley and later moved to Asheville in 1980. He graduated from AC Reynolds High School and earned his Associates Degree from AB Tech. Donnie loved to fish, golf, bowl and watch NASCAR. He was known among his fishing friends for the ability to pick the perfect bait to catch the big one. He was a very skilled bowler and handed that skill down to his sons – he taught them well. Donnie was a beloved member of the community and worked at STF Precision, where he was highly respected and was considered one of the best designer engineers around.
In addition to his parents, Donnie is survived by his loving wife, Susan; two sons, Seth and Johnny; step-daughter, Kapri; three brothers, Kenny (wife Teri), Kevin and Steve, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. Donnie was an amazing father, son, brother and friend. He was so loved and will be missed by all.
A celebration of Donnie’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a Go Fund Me Account For Donnie Osley to assist with medical and funeral expenses.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is honored to be assisting the family.
