David Richard Buckner, 86, of Leicester, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at his home.
A native of Madison Co., David was a son of the late Horace and Pearl Waldroup Buckner. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Louise, Gladys and Betty, and by his brothers, Albert and Floyd.
Mr. Buckner worked as a machinist for Taylor Instruments, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby Scott Buckner; daughters, Diana Dysert, Sheila B. Mackey, and Rhonda Ayers; sons, Jack L. Buckner and Michael E. Buckner; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and brother, Benny Buckner.
Funeral services for Mr. Buckner will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
