Pensacola, Fla. - David Warren Hodge, 72, of Pensacola, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007. Born Jan. 19, 1934, in Asheville, N.C., to the late Wayne William Sr. and Nanny Leora Wright Hodge, he was a golf pro, professional driver, of the Baptist faith, and a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Korean War. Mr. Hodge was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister. Survivors include his best friend, Karen Trompke of Pensacola; four sons, Steven Hodge (Mardu) of Los Angeles, David Hodge (Pamela) of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Warren Shane Hodge and William Hodge (Gretchen), all of Houston; daughter, Julie Bellafiore (Vito) of Taneytown, Md.; and brother, Charles Hodge of Asheville; grandchildren, David Hodge, Celina Hodge, Lisa Bellafiore, Ronnie Hodge, Robyn Bellafiore, Diego Hodge and Matthew Bellafiore; and the mother of his children, Judy Hodge Martin. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home Chapel, Patton Avenue in Asheville, N.C., with burial to follow at Cane Creek Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Groce Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Donnie Sowell Funeral Home in Milton, Fla., and Groce Funeral Home in Asheville are in charge of the arrangements.
