Donna Sue Anderson, 62, of Asheville, passed unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
Born July 10, 1963 in Buncombe Co., Donna was a daughter of Ellen Pike (step-father Elbert “Corky” Pike) and of the late Don Anderson. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Doug Pike.
Donna worked for years in textiles for the Burlington and Champion companies. After they shut down, she got her CNA license and worked at the Brooks-Howell Home and RiverBend Health and Rehabilitation (Baptist Home).
Surviving is her daughter, Danielle McCall (Michael); son, Cody Nash (Maxi); sister, Jessica James (Jason); brothers, Ray Anderson, Tim Anderson and Chris Pike (Cindy); her grandsons, Jaxson and Braylon McCall, who were her whole world; aunts, Bobbie Doris McLean and Martha Crowder Cooper; and several cousins.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 26, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

I’m so sorry for y’all’s loss. Donna was in my life since the day I was born her and my mom were the best of friends. Going to keep Danny, Cody and the rest of the family in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong.
Donna was such a beautiful person inside and out. She has such a caring heart. Those of us who got to know her was blessed by her presence. Jessica I’m so sorry to hear this. I pray that God keeps you and your family in his arms. I know Donna left a smile on the face of each person she cared for. I miss you Donna.

I was honored to have worked with Donna both at Brooks-Howell and WNC Baptist Home. She was a dedicated CNA and only wanted the best for her patients and co-workers. She loved her family and talked of them, often. Danielle, Cody & Jessica you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
