Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I am sorry to hear that Doreen has left this earth, but I am sure she is with our Lord now. She will be watching and doing what she can for all her loved ones here as before.
    Love, MaryAnn

  2. Doreen ‘Nana’ Touched our family in ways that will be felt for many years to come. All four of our children grew in love with their Nana, and so many of the memories of their lives will be forever intangled in that love she shared. Our love and sympathy go out so deeply to her family that we love and shared in prayers and mass.

  3. We are sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family. We were Recruiters together in Asheville, N. C. Westgate Shopping Center from 1970 to 1975. I was one of the Navy Recruiters. We have thought about you all often, and wondered if you were still living in the good ole mountains. Give us a call sometime. 478-953-2220.

  4. To the Newman Family:
Doreen was a very dear friend to my mother. I have followed her illness and know how she suffered. She is now free of any pain and in the presence of God. She will be dearly missed but always remember that all of you will see her again in heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Rest in the everlasing arms of our Lord.
    Love,
    Terri, Leigh, and Kristin Justus

  5. Dear Mike (and family),

We are truly sorry to hear about your Mom’s passing. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you.

  6. Kristen and Family,
I just want to let you know that my thoughts and prayers arewith you at this time and for times to come. I did not know ‘Nana’ but threw Kristen I felt like I knew her! You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
    With Love,
    Brandy Knight

  7. Kimmy, Wayne and Dale & the Newman Family,
Your mom was always a sweet and kind person to us kids in the neighborhood when you folks lived on Grandview. I remember she always let us kids hang around the house and have fun. I will miss her.
    Bob May

  8. DJ, From the first time I met you & Doreen, I felt like part of your family. I’ve never met any two people who are so gracious and kind. Words can’t begin to express our deep sadness at Doreen’s passing, but Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. She is finally face to face with her Lord. She fought a good fight and she kept her faith. She was a shining example of God’s love and I am blessed to have called her my friend.

In the days & weeks ahead, you will be in our prayers. Please let us know if you, or your family need anything. We love you both very much.

  9. I am Kathy Henderson’s granddaughter. Doreen was a very special lady. I knew of her along with all of the ‘Club Sisters’. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

  10. Kim, I’d like to offer my deepest condolences on the loss of your Mother. I certainly know what it feels like to lose a parent. Ms. Doreen was a fine lady. I’ll always remember that when Darryl and my Grandma Franklin passed away, she was right there bringing food. I hope love and good memories will give you and the family strength at this sad time.

Love, Joie Gilstrap and June Fisher

  11. I never had a sister but I looked up to and loved Doreen for as long as I can remember. I was her bridesmaid when I was 11 years old and she was to marry a very handsome man called Darrell. When Doreen and Darrell moved to USA I wrote letters regularly and over 40 years we kept in touch and in recent years came to Asheville several times. She was always there to give advice, share her thoughts, give encouragement and most of all love. She was so courageous and uncomplaining making me feel very humble. I will miss her dreadfully. We send our love to all the family and you will be in our thoughts every day. Love from Barbara, Reggie, Sam Carlton, Jo, Scott. Jed and Freddie xxxx

  12. Mike, Dale, Kim, and Wayne:

I wanted to say Im sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you guys. I wanted to pay my respects to you and your family. Your Mom ment a great deal to me. Everytime I came over to see Mike she would offer me something to eat or even cook something for me. She was a very generous and loving person. I will miss her very much. I think about your family all the time, I consider you apart of mine! God Bless.

  13. Dear Newman family, Please accept our sincere condolences, and know you are remembered in prayer.
