Doris Bell Meece

Arden – Doris Bell Meece, 82, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Mission Hospital. Mrs. Meece was born in Henderson County to the late Daniel and Lois Tally Bell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard William Meece; a son, William Meece and a sister, Freda Blankenship. Doris was a wonderful mother and homemaker and will be missed by all. She is survived by her four children, Delores Brooks and her husband, James of Seneca, SC, Walter Meece of Blairsville, GA, Rita Rhodes of Arden and Tina Lively and her husband, Allen of Arden; one brother, Daniel Bell of San Antonio, TX; two sisters, Audrey Kilpatrick of Asheville and Virginia Meece of Fletcher; five grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Shepherd Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
