Arden ~ On Sunday, January 28th, 2018, Doris Pressley, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, passed away peacefully at the age of 82. A native of Western North Carolina, Doris enjoyed spending time with her family, talking with friends, and watching NASCAR races. Doris will be lovingly remembered by her children, Bridget Scott (Tammy) and Sharon Smith. Doris will also be forever remembered by her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends. She will join her creator, her husband, Bob Pressley and son, Gary Scott, in the Kingdom of Heaven. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Elizabeth Austin Parker, a brother, J.B. Parker and a sister, Pauline Ellege. A celebration of Doris’s life will be held at Bent Creek Baptist Church at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 conducted by the Rev. Tommy Bridges. Interment will be held in the church cemetery and the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Bent Creek Baptist Church Music Ministry, 1554 Brevard Road, Asheville, NC 28806. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
