Dorothy Crumley McKinney, 81, of 569 Pond Road, died Monday, July 25, 2011, at her home. Mrs. McKinney was born in Greenville, SC, and was a daughter of the late Madison Mallonee Crumley and Marjorie Ellen Thompson Crumley. She was retired as a manager with Roses Department Store. Surviving are her husband, Clyde W. McKinney, a daughter, Phyllis McKinney Jamison; sons, Randall Eugene McKinney and wife, Kaye, and Stephen Ray McKinney; one sister, Doris Waters and husband, Don; one brother, Franklin Crumley and wife, Diane; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Bent Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Bridges officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Memorials may be made to Bent Creek Baptist Church, 1554 Brevard Road, Asheville, NC 28806, or to CarePartners Hospice Solace Center, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28803.
