Dorothy Hensley Hyde

January 17, 1930 ~ October 25, 2001

A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Richard ''Buster'' Hensley and Beatrice Mayo Gentry Hensley and wife of the late Bob James Hyde who died in January 2000.
She was a former employee of Thoms Rehabilitation Hospital in the Speech and Hearing Center and was a member of the Asheville Rifle Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy June Waldrop of Fairview; three sons, Charles James Hyde of Catawba, Robert Stephen Hyde of Asheville and Andrew Lee Hyde of Arden; two sisters, Eleanor Westmoreland and Susan Kirkpatrick of Candler; eight grandchildren, Kevin, Kimberly, April, Robert, Shelby and Tyler Hyde, Cayce Waldrop and Natasha Carben and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Alex Hyde. The family wishes to express their special appreciation to Toni O'Day and Donna Graham associated with the Mission/St. Joseph's Owen Heart Tower.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Reverend Cecil Robinson. Interment will follow in Calvary Episcopal Churchyard.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 PM Friday at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road and at other times will be at 48 Baldwin Road, Arden.
